Racing: Swedish double victory for Fischer at the Sprint in Davos (SUI)
In todays Sprint in Davos (SUI) a Swedish double victory was celebrated on Fischer skis.
There were four different nations at the start of the womens final. The group was together until the last hill. There it got a little bit crowded - and at the end Anna Dahlberg (SWE, Fischer) went first over the finishline.
"I was not really lucky in Oberstdorf - but today I was lucky and I´m very happy about that" she said the with a big smile on her face.
The surprise of the day was Chandra Crwaford (CAN, Fischer). The young Canadian achieved third place, close behind Virpi Kuitunen (FIN) and gained a place on the podium for the first time in her career.
The surprising third explained her tactic."I always wanted to get on the podium - but it didn`t work. Now my goal was to come into the finals, then to get into the semifinals and so on. And it worked!"
Björn Lind (SWE, Fischer) was again the fastest man today. The Swede defeated Christian Zorzi (ITA) in second place and won his third world cup Sprint in this season.
"This summer I trained very hard and the material fits really well. Due to this I`m strong enough not only to be fast in the prologue, but also in the finals", Björn Lind said explaining his strength in the sprint.
The young Italian Loris Frasinelli (Fischer) was just beaten at the finishline and finished fourth behind
Jon Kristian Dahl (NOR).
