Racing: Helena Jonsson (SWE) back on the podium
Helena Jonsson (SWE, Fischer skis and boots) is back on the podium after a great performance in the Sprint at Khanty Mansiysk (RUS). The current third-placed Swede in the Overall World Cup shot flawlessly and only had to accept defeat to the likewise flawless Iana Romanova (RUS) and Marie Laure Brunet (FRA).
Simone Hauswald (GER, Fischer skis and boots) missed one target at the standing session and thus had to compensate one penalty loop. However the repeat winner of Oslo (NOR) put in an outstanding performance on the tracks, she missed the podium in fourth place by the margin of just 0.8 seconds. Anyway the 30-year old German secured the small crystal globe for victory in the Sprint World Cup.
The fight for victory in the Overall World Cup is still open. Simone Hauswald is in second position, 33 points behind Magdalena Neuner (GER, Fischer skis and boots) who achieved eighth place today despite three shooting errors.
